The lamp Panasonic PT50LC14 Lamp with Housing TY-LA1000

The lamp went out in my 5 year old Panasonic 60" LCD and after looking around a bunch, this replacement seemed like the best deal to me. It was a piece of cake to install and reset the lamp timer. Wow, what a difference in the picture. It's like a new TV again. I didn't realize how much the picture had faded due to the lamp slowly dying.

I purchased my TV in January of 2005, and I remember the picture being something amazing to look at back then. Recently my wife and I had been noticing the picture wasn't all that amazing, and we thought it was because all of the new super slim LCD TVs were just that much more amazing and our's was looking dull in comparison. So we were seriously considering a new TV; it just wasn't in the budget yet. Then the lamp indicator on my TV came on and I decided to give the old girl a new lease on life as we saved up for the new hotness that was to replace her. Looking around, I found this lamp with housing cheaper than just the lamp and bought it. It took less than 10 minutes to install, and the picture on the TV once again looks great! It had degraded slowly over the years, and I guess it wasn't all that obvious until the new bulb was installed just how badly.
